You can help: Anyone: If all, who wish the cutting would stop (and there are thousands in North Dakota--perhaps a majority if fully informed), would simply let others know how they feel by putting their name on this list, it would go a long way to stopping the harm. Students can request that information be provided in classes in such courses as: parenting and child development, health, psychology and sociology, biology, and especially in any subject that addresses human and civil rights, like government, literature and history. At the college level, similar subjects should address the issue, including philosophy and ethics. Teachers can provide students with information in the subjects above, and administrators can assure teachers that it is appropriate to do so. Although we still live in an age ruled by by fear on this taboo subject, this issue must be addressed in the same context as any other civil rights issue.. Parents can ask administrators and teachers to address the issue and support them when they do. Too often those wanting to censure information are the first to speak up. Future Parents remember this: Your infant son will read this website someday. Link to parents who know. Physicians can stop soliciting circumcisions, and if parents request it, simply explain to them that they don't do them anymore since there are no therapeutic reasons and there are damages. Compare the decline of circumcision as a routine procedure to how appendectomies and tonsillectomies are no longer prophylactic performed. >Join Doctors Opposing Circumcision (DOC). Physicians should be prepared to tell the baby, who will someday look them straight in the eye, why, with all the information available, you cut him. Let others know you are concerned. One way to tell others you too are willing to be counted amongst those who want the unnecessary cutting of infants and children to stop, is to add your name to this list.
